Hi Experts,
Does TPSI3050-Q1 has active discharge reference design for DC Lnik Cap?
Thanks.

Hi Alan,
We currently do not have an active discharge reference design for the TPSI3050-Q1. However, do you have any questions or concerns about the implementation of the TPSI3050-Q1 in such an application?
Let us know and we would be more than happy to help out here.
Thanks!
Bryan
Hi Bryan,
I wonder to know how to achieve mculess design on active discharge.
Hi Alan,
Thanks for clarifying the use case here. We are currently looking into the options we have to achieve this kind of design and will get back to you within the next few days.
Thanks!
Bryan
Hi Alan,
Thank you for your patience as we investigated how we can achieve this. Please see below for an block diagram on how this active discharge could work utilizing the TPSI3050-Q1:
Essentially, you can use some array of glue logic or a CPLD (MCU-less) of your choosing to help control the TPSI3050-Q1 to begin driving the power FET when needed to discharge the DC link capacitor. Then, you can use the current sense detection as a diagnostic option to feedback elsewhere on the status of the discharging and signal once the DC link capacitor has reached a safe voltage.
Let me know if you have additional questions on this.
Thanks!
Bryan
