TPS25750: Connection of IC and receptacle on the same substrate

Part Number: TPS25750

Dear TI team

Please tell me about the CC pin connection between the "TPS25750D" and the type-c receptacle on the same board.

I think that the CC1/CC2 pins of the "TPS25750D" can be directly connected to the CC1/CC2 pins of the type-C receptacle without resistors,

because of the built-in cable detection function.

Is this perception correct?

Best Regards,

Taroimo

  • Hi Taroimo-san,

    Thank you for reaching out!

Yes this perception is correct, however it is recommended to connect a capacitor to GND in order to filter noise (see highlighted in datasheet below). Use a 330 pF capacitor if you have ESD protection on the CC lines and a 220pF capacitor without protection.

    Best Regards,

    Aya

  • Hi Aya,

Thank you for your prompt reply.

I was worried about the recommended value of the capacitor.

    I appreciate your useful advice.

    Best Regards,

    Taroimo
