BQ4050: BQ4050 Lithium iron battery RSOC incorrect

Part Number: BQ4050
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: GPCCEDV

Hi

The customer use BQ4050 with Lithium iron battery nominal voltage is 3200mV, the charging voltage is 3650mV, the capacity is 3800mAh, and the terminate voltage is 0.01C-3.65V.

The problem is Remaining capacity is not correct, they have finished the GPCCEDV and upload the report data.

When terminate discharging then wake up again, it is found that its power is still 99%, RC=3761mAh, FCC=3800mAh.

Attached the .gg file and GPCCEDV report, and log data

Waiting for your reply.

Thanks

  • Hello Star,

When the gauge wakes up from shutdown it will take an OCV reading to correlate with the SOC, it sounds like the batteries may have been momentarily charged during wakeup causing the gauge to correlate the OCV to a SOC that is too high. The voltage must be stable on wakeup for the gauge to accurately correlate the voltage.

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller
