TPS53353: Power input circuitry configuration

Dear TI Team,

We are designing a new LED controller board. As per requirement, board should support 5V to 12V power input. But most of the LED strips will work in 5V.

We can use a buck converter to get 5V from higher voltages. But when board is powered with 5V how this will be handled. TI representative suggested TPS53353 part but am confused that how this part will take care this.

Also the individual strips requires 5A current, so the IC should be able to source 20A minimum.

Request you to help me in finding a solution for this.

Hey Vyshnav,

If you are regulating at 5V and your input power supply voltage goes near 5V, you may see voltage drop at the output as the device is hitting it's maximum on time the closer VIN gets to VOUT. I'd recommend asking the field to get in contact with the buck-boost converter team.
