BQ78350: Problem during exporting the Data Memory

Hello everybody, I am working on my BMS card and I made a new version of it. I use Battery Management Studio to manage it and so i want to export the configuration of my BQ78350 from the previous PCB to the new one. But it's not working and I have some questions :

- First, I ordered the component from differents websites so I had some BQ78350-R1 and now I have some BQ78350, is it a software or a hardware version ?

- I tried to update the firmware but I can't click on the "Browse" button on the Battery Management Studio to choose the version.

- When I import my Data Memory from File I have 2 pop-up windows on my screen, are they errors or information messages ?

    Hi John,

    The BQ78350 has different firmware, so you cannot load your .gg.csv file on this device until you update the firmware first. The firmware can be downloaded from this page: https://www.ti.com/tool/download/BQ78350-DEVICE-FW/R1-V1.04  After you update the firmware on the device, you should restart BQStudio and then you should be able to load your .gg.csv file.

    Ok thanks that's what it looked like to me. But I still can't click on the "Browse" button in order to choose the good firmware, on my software I can see this :

    Hello John,

    Some files in the bqStudio installation folder are probably missing or corrupt.

    Delete/Rename the c:\ti\BatteryManagementStudio folder and reinstall bqStudio to resolve this issue.

    Hello John,

    Try this procedure to update the firmware

    Connect EV2400 but disconnect SMBus to bq78350

    Then start bqStudio and select BQ78350-R1 in the popup

    Navigate to firmware tab and see if you get the error. If no error, then connect bq78350 and program the R1 firmware to it from this tab.

    Hello, thanks for the tips, it worked well. I will detail how I did if someone has the same issue : 

    - Connect the EV2400 to the computer and leave disconnected the SMBUS.

    - Turn on the BQ78350.

    - Choose the first version of the BQ78350_R1 on the BQstudio pop-up.

    - Go on the Firmware section and select your BQ78350_R1 firmware.

    - Click on "Program" and connect the SMBus to the EV2400.
