TPS7A78EVM-011: Standby power measurement

Part Number: TPS7A78EVM-011

Hello,

Our customer tested TPS7A78EVM-011 standby power at the EVM default setting and measured 180mW standby power. However the EVM document specifies 104mW at 120V/60Hz, no load test condition. So the customer is annoyed why this test result difference comes from. Could you please let us know how you could measured 104mW standby power was measured. It must be helpful to share detail test condition and accurate measurement method.

Best regards,

  • Hi Toshiro,

I'm looking into this and will get back to you in 2 business days.

    Thanks,

    Stephen

  • Hi Toshiro,

I looked into this question and to capture the measurement we need a power analyzer that can measure this small amount of watts.  We no longer have this equipment in our facility so I'm unable to recreate the measurement at this time.  The customer should review the power analyzer they are using to make the measurement and to confirm it can measure accurately at such a low value of power.  They should also confirm they are measuring the power with the same conditions in the user guide:

    Thanks,

    Stephen
