LM74910-Q1: LM74910-Q1 + LM74700-Q1 for dual battery supply architecture

Part Number: LM74910-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM74900, , LM74700-Q1

Hi, Support Team

We Would use as below architecture as below chart, and some question( for ADAS application/Battery in 12V)

Q1: Would you recommend using this architecture, or do you have any recommendations?

Q2: What is the difference between LM74900/910? Which one do you recommend for implementing in Fig 1.

Q3: If the input bead, common mode choke, and PI filter are removed, can it pass the AC Superimpose Test?

Q4: Is there difference between testing VBAT1 and VBAT2 separately versus testing them together for the AC Superimpose?

Fig1.

if any suggestion. Please advise me.

Thanks,

Best regards,

Lawrence

  • Hi, Support Team

The original design is as shown below

if use Fig 1 Architecture, can it replace Fig2.

Fig1. no increase input bead, common mode choke, and PI filter, can it pass the AC Superimpose Test?

    Fig2.

  • Hi Lawrence,

    Regarding your queries on LM74910-Q1:

Q1: Would you recommend using this architecture, or do you have any recommendations?

A1: There would be no issues with this architecture.

Q2: What is the difference between LM74900/910? Which one do you recommend for implementing in Fig 1.

A2: 910 has higher peak DGATE drive strength and charge pump source current capability compared to that of 900. This will enable 910 to rectify higher frequency AC super imposed signals as high as 200kHz.

Otherwise all the remaining features, functionalities and parameters of 900 and 910 are the same. So, both the devices can be used in your configuration.

Q3: If the input bead, common mode choke, and PI filter are removed, can it pass the AC Superimpose Test?

A3: Yes, both LM74700-Q1 and LM749x0-Q1 devices can perform rectification of AC Superimpose signal and hence can pass the test.

Q4: Is there difference between testing VBAT1 and VBAT2 separately versus testing them together for the AC Superimpose?

A4: Both LM749x0-Q1 and LM74700-Q1 can perform AC signal Rectification independent to each other.

Regarding your queries on original design:

Only one Fig is uploaded. Please upload both Figures.
