Hi Conner-san,
Our customer confirmed VIF.
Then, the following items are blank.
PD_Spec_Revision_Major
PD_Spec_Revision_Miner
PD_Spec_Version_Major
PD_Spec_Version_Miner
Can they apply even if this item is blank?
If no, could you please let us know the information of Revision and Version?
Regards,
Hide
<PD_Specification_Revision value="2">Revision 3.0</PD_Specification_Revision> includes the major and minor revision values.
<Version>2.0.1.1</Version> includes the major and minor version values.
Regards,
Conner Gillette
Hi Conner-san,
My understanding is below.
Is my understanding correct?
PD_Spec_Revision_Major=3
PD_Spec_Revision_Miner=3
PD_Spec_Version_Major=2.0.1.1
PD_Spec_Version_Miner=2.0.1.1
We understand that we can’t enter "2" into PD_Spec_Revision because VIF rule is 3 to 9.
Therefore, we guess that PD_Spec_Revision value is 3.
However, your comment is “<PD_Specification_Revision value="2">Revision 3.0”.
So, we don't know if PD_Spec_Revision value is 2 or 3.
I’d greatly appreciate your verification.
Regards,
Hide
My apologies, after reviewing the Vendor Info File Definition Document, the values are as follows:
PD Specification Revision 3.0, Version 2.0:
• PD_Spec_Revision_Major = 3
• PD_Spec_Revision_Minor = 0
• PD_Spec_Version_Major = 2
• PD_Spec_Version_Minor = 0
The Complete PD Specification Number is 3020h.
Hi Conner-san,
We have additional question.
[Q1]
Are there any plans for TPS25750 to support USB PD Rev3.1?
If yes, could you please let us know when to adapt?
[Q2]
If TPS25750 can support USB PD Rev3.1, please let me know if you have the following information.
- Are there any measurement items to fail?
-Measurement items that have not been implemented
-Measurement items that can be passed
<Background>
Our customer are using TPS25750 at current model.
And, they would like to use TPS25750 for next model but need USB PD Rev3.1 and USB I/F certification.
Therefore, they need some information.
Regards,
Hide
Could you post this on the internal forum Hide? I will be able to respond appropriately there.
Regards,
Conner Gillette
My apologies Hide, I had erroneously thought you were a TI employee. I am checking with a colleague and will be able to answer your question by the end of the day today, in this thread.
Hide,
The TPS25750 will remain PD 3.0 compliant, however we will be releasing a new product this year that will be PD 3.1 compliant. I believe your customer will find its feature-set competitive, in addition to being cost competitive.
Kind regards,
Conner Gillette
Hi Conner-san,
Thank you for the information.
I understand that TPS25750 can’t support PD3.1.
Is my understanding correct?
And, could you please let us know RTM timing and detail information of a new product?
Regards,
Hide
That is correct.
The new product (that will be PD 3.1 compliant) is planned to be released to ti.com for the middle of this calendar year, and RTM beginning of next year. It will have a similar feature set to the TPS25750.
Kind regards,
Conner Gillette
