TPS22916: Vih Vil specification

Part Number: TPS22916

Hi Team,

the Vil & Vih specification is misleading for me. On the recommended operating conditions you write Vih to be between 1V and 5.5V and Vil to be between 0V and 0.35V. Then there is graph 6.6 which plots both values over input voltage. But here Vih never even reaches 1V while Vil is always above the "recommended" 0.35V. What is the real value to use now?

Thank you for your time!

Best regards,

Simon

  • Hi Simon,

The recommended operating conditions take in to account process variation so they will be outside of the range of what you see experimentally with a nominal board.

The device ensures the switch will be off if VON<0.35V and ensures the switch will be on if VON>1V.

This change of state between on and off will occur sometime between 0.35V and 1V as shown in Figure 6-6.

    Best Regards,

    Elizabeth
