TPS51216: spec check

Part Number: TPS51216

Hi

May I ask about TI TPS51216, one of the pins is VTT, If this IC is used to supply power to DDR5, and DDR5 does not use VTT CTRL, can this pin be floating?

  • Hi Gareth,

If you do not need VTT, the pin can be floating, and TI recommends this by tying VTT to VTTSNS and removing the capacitor in order to float. If you do not need VTT, TI also strongly recommends implementing the following in addition to tying VTT to VTTSNS and removing the capacitor:

    • Connect VLDOIN to VDDQ
    • Connect VTTGND to GND
    • Select MODE 0 or MODE 1
    • Maintain a 0.22-µF capacitor connected at VTTREF
    • Pull-down S3 to GND with 1-kΩ resistance

    Thanks,
    Field
