LM2674: Alternative

Part Number: LM2674

Hi,

Good Day.

The customer is also for an alternative solution for the currently out-of-stock LM2674N-5.0. Requirements are fixed 5V output and should be in the same PDIP package.

He also wants to know the possibility of using the fixed 3.3V variant (LM2674N-3.3/NOPB) and configuring the external resistors on the FB pin to achieve a fixed 5V output.

Specifically, I wanted to know if I could connect a 3.6K resistor in series with pin 4 to change the voltage to 5V.
Please advise. Thank you very much.
Best Regards,

Ray Vincent
  • Hi Ray,

Thank you for posting.  According to the datasheet, your approach of inserting a 3.6k resistor to the FB of the 3.3V variant should work.  Let me double check with our expert and get back to you by COB tomorrow.

    Regards,

    Youhao

  • Hi Ray,

I got some advices from our expert.  It should work but the output regulation setting point may not be as accurate due to the mismatch of internal and external resistors. So, expect possible larger tolerances in the Vout setting.

    Thanks,

    Youhao
