Battery Protection IC

Hi,

I am working on Li-ion battery protection circuit module for 4S configuration. The nominal charging voltage specified by the cell is 4.35V and cell supplier recommend overcharge detection at 4.43V and overdischarge at 2.30V.

Is there any IC that anyone would recommend?

Thank you.

  • You can use one of Texas Instruments battery charger ICs.  Our ICs have a very accurate maximum charge voltage in order to provide protection against an overcharge condition.  For the overdischarge condition, you can use an SVS to detect the battery voltage and turn the system off when the battery voltage gets too low.  TI's web site has very good sleection tools to help you choose an IC that meets your needs.
