TPS62873-Q1: VSEL question

Part Number: TPS62873-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62871

Can you help me to clarify the startup voltage for the TPS62873Y1QWRXSRQ1?  When VSEL is connected via 6.2k to GND, table 9-5 shows 500mV, but table 6-1 shows 800mv for the TPS62870Y1QWRXSRQ1 which I assume also means the TPS62873Y1QWRXSRQ1. since they are both the "Y1" device.

Ultimately, the customer has three of these 15A devices on the same I2C bus and needs different I2C addresses, but all of these devices also need to output 0.8V.  I think he'll have to configure 0.5, 0.75 and 0.8V at startup, then change the output voltage after power on.  Do we have any data on how long it will take to change the output voltage after startup? Are there any other options to have three 15 A devices all with 0.8V startup, but with different I2C addresses?

Thanks!

  • Hi Will,

Correct. VSEL pin configuration remain same for both spins TPS62870Y1QWRXSRQ1 and TPS62873Y1QWRXSRQ1 to set 0.8V output.

TPS62871/3Y1QWRXSRQ1 part have two I2C addresses for 0.8V (6.2Ohm to GND and 47kOhm to Vin)and we can follow the step sequence to get the 0.8V for third rail.

Can you share more details on customer application and timeline for project ? We have some new devices which is more suitable here.

    Best regards,

    Tanvee
