Hello,

1. I am interested to buy your Battery board developed to evaluate the bq76PL455EVM. Is the battery board developed by TI?

2. I am also interested to buy the bq76PL455EVM. Is this board obsolete? If yes do you still provide support? What is the replacement for this board?

3. The bq76PL455EVM is connected directly to the PC running the Embed GUI. Is this GUI free of use?

4. Can i use my LAUNCHXL-F28069M for BMS software development or you recommend something else?

5. Do I need Altair license for all ideas explained above?

Thank you for reaching out! For the purposes of your project, we recommend looking into the BQ79616-Q1 device since we have limited support on the BQ76PL455A-Q1 device. This is functionally similar to the BQ76PL455A-Q1 device, but is newer/improved by having better accuracy, more robust communications, and functional safety features. Through the product page, you will be able to view the entire datasheet, related technical documentation, and have the ability to order an evaluation board.

Also, is this an active or passive or active BMS, i couldn't find specific explanation about that? If yes what microcontroller do you suggest (with examples included)? Thank you!

Yes- BQ79616EVM-021 is the part I was referring to and a free GUI is available to download for use with this board.

Can you please elaborate on what you mean by passive or active BMS- are you referring to cell balancing?

Yes bq79616 supports LFP. As for your previous questions, bq76pl455a is actually no longer available on the website so really bq79616 is our recommendation for your needs. There is a purchasable EVM and free GUI that is accessible if you request more information on the product folder in blue.

Adrian,

We do not sell the battery boards they are only for our testing. We recommend to use the TMS570 which we built on the example code for bq79616 otherwise it is in your hands to port over to a different mcu.
