BQ25622: VSYSMIN

Part Number: BQ25622

There is a configurable parameter known as VSYSMIN.

What exactly does this parameter? Is a minimum voltage that triggers an error message or Interrupt signal?

In the Datasheet there is the following statement: "The minimum system voltage is set by VSYSMIN register setting. Even with a fully depleted battery, the system is regulated to the minimum system voltage".

I have configured VSYSMIN to 3.5V. When a 3.3V battery is used, VSYS = 3.3V, similar to VBAT. Shouldn't always be 3.5V regardless of battery voltage?

Please clarify.

Thank you very much for your help.

  • Hello,

The VSYSMIN parameter will be the minimum allowable system voltage during charging. For example, if battery is charging at 3V and VSYSMIN = 3.5V then VSYS will be regulated at 3.5V while VBAT = 3V.

If there is no input supply connected at VBUS and only the battery is connected VSYS will be approximately equal to VBAT.

    Best Regards,

    Garrett
