LM3409HV: Please confirm my understanding for setting LED current

Part Number: LM3409HV

Hello, this part looks good for my application, but I want to confirm that my understanding is correct:

The Iadj pin is used to set the LED current with a resistor. When using PWM dimming, this Radj resistor is essentially setting the MAX LED current, and the PWM will decrease the average LED current proportional to the duty cycle. Is this correct?

  • Hi Stephen,

If you place an external resistor from IADJ pin to ground, then all your understandings are correct.

Please notice there are other two methos you can set the current sense threshold using the multi-function IADJ pin (Please refer to Section 8.3.2.1 from the datasheet).

    Best Regards,

    Steven
