GPCCHEM: When acquiring battery chemistry, is it OK to attach a protection IC to the battery cell?

Dear TI Team

I intend to obtain data to upload to the GPC (Gauging Parameter Calculator) tool.
Do I need to remove the protection IC from the Li-Ion battery to make the data more reliable?


I referred to the following document for the test procedure.
Technical Document SLVA725A-September 2015-Revised August 2018
3.1 Lithium Ion/Lithium Poly/Lithium Ion
