LM1117: Design required to convert from 12V to 5V

Can you please provide circuit design to get the below mentioned output?

Input range :12V

Required fixed output: 5V fixed output

Iout: 0.7A

    Hi Keerthana,

    Use this schematic as a reference. R1 = 121 ohms, R2 = 1.05 kilo-ohms. 

    Be sure to follow the datasheet guidelines on input and output capacitors.  Ceramic capacitors by themselves will not work as Cout, unless you place a series resistor at least 0.3 ohms.  Dry tantalums may be fine if the ESR is high enough, and aluminum electrolytic capacitors should be fine.
