TPS63020 footprint / package

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS63020

Team,

Can someone clarify the footprint/package of the TPS63020? The first page of the datasheet (under FEATURES) mentions that the TPS63020 is available in a QFN-14 package. However, the mechanical data at the end of the datasheet is for a VSON (DSJ) package. Also, the only orderable options online is for the VSON (DSJ) package. Is VSON (DSJ) the same as QFN-14 package?

Thanks,

Fern

  • The package drawing at the end of the datasheet in the authority when it comes to anything mechanical about the part.  This drawing clearly shows the package type--PVSON.

Also note that the 'powerpad' is not actually a powerpad, but an exposed thermal pad.  Page 22 clearly explains this and notes that it must be soldered to the board for mechanical stability, unlike a true powerpad.
