BQ76942: temperature reported incorrectly in BQ studio

Hi ,

I Have set Alert as the alert function and TS2 as not used yet BQ studio reports -273.2 degrees C. Does this matter in terms of reporting UTD or UTC? or is it purely a Battery Studio reading issue.

Hello Richard,

Do you have a thermistor on both pins or is it floating? You can try testing with a 10k at room temp. It should read close to 25C

What are your configurations for Alert Pin and TS2? A quick test will be to set them equal to TS1 (0x07).

Hi Jose,

The alert pin is connected to the base of a transistor used to alert another system that there is a fault. TS2 is connected to a reset switch. Alert is set to 02 and TS 2 is set to 00.

Hello Richard,

I did not initially understand your question. I thought you wanted to configure ALERT and TS2 as thermistor.

The -273.2 degrees C simply means that the pins have not been configured as thermistor. You can ignore this as this will not affect or trigger any protections.
