You can use the 4CC command 'DBfg' to clear the dead battery flag. This command is detailed in the TPS25750 TRM.

We are working on testing the dead battery mode, and at the mean time we are trying out the GUI. I still have some questions and may need your help.

We want to have USB-PD charging on the battery, as well as legacy protocols, such as BC1.2, and want to have the battery can support different charging current at 5V based on the USB protocol. Raymond helped to generate a BIN file to solve this, but based on our testing it only supported 5V and 0.5A under any protocols. So could you help on this? We want to use 5V 0.5A for legacy USB, and 5V 2A for USB-PD (Raymond's BIN file already covered "1.5A@ 9V and 12V", "2A @15V and 20V" with USB-PD, and 0.5A@5V for any protocol)

1. Is it possible to configure this in the GUI by ourselves? Could you share the guild on how to do this? I couldn't find the document/video about this.

2. If not, could you help to generate the GUI on your end to achieve this?

We are working on a new GUI that will support BC1.2. It will likely be out in the next month.

In the interim, if you want to upload the project file here, I can give it a look.

Regarding the Dead Battery Mode, we followed the instruction to send the "DBfg" command to try to clear the flag, but seems like it didn't work as expected. Could you share some advice? 

The behavior we observed:

If battery was in Shutdown, and enabled through USB charger, it would get enabled for a short period of time but stop charging after about 10s; re-plug in the charger, it would charge at about 1A. Then remove the charger and plugged-in again, the battery could charge normally at about 2A. 

Before we implement the "DBfg" operation, after the battery can be activated directly from the USB charger, but the current is still 1A. The re-plug in can lead to a normal charging 2A. 

Any suggestions? 

Also for the 5V BC1.2 0.5A and USB-PD 2A function, any update?

The dead battery flag is used to denote whether or not the TPS25750 is being powered by VIN_3V3 or by VBUS through an LDO (dead battery condition).

Do you have any traces of this behavior and a block diagram of your system?

As of right now the new GUI is still in testing.

For the BQ25792, what is your charge termination current and your pre-charge current?

Is this device behaving as both a source and a sink, for its power role?

Do you want the 9V, 12V, 15V, and 20V source and sink PDOs, or just the 5V 2A PDO for source and sink?

Also, for BC1.2 support, are you doing

1. CDP

2. DCP only

or

3. DCP and 1.2 and 2.7V charging?

The pre-charge current is 400mA, and the Taper current is 200mA.

This device is sink only.

We would like to have all voltages covered:

5V/0.5A (BC1.2),

5V/1.5A(USB-PD),

9V/1.5A,

12V/1.5A,

15V/2A,

20V/2A

I think we already have all USB-PD functions in the previous version BIN, except 5V/1.5A.

For BC1.2, I think we need:

SDP: standard downstream port (like on the old PCs), for 5V/0.5A

DCP: Dedicated Charging Port (DCP), for 5V/1.5A

If DCP is not achievable, SDP only is fine at this point, and the higher current 5V/1.5A can be covered by USB-PD.
