LMR38020: Datasheet Footprint Issue

Part Number: LMR38020

Hi Team,

LMR38020FDDAR Datasheet Footprint  (Fig 1) Pin footprint 0.5*2.2

But TPS2421-1DDAR Datasheet Footprint  (Fig 2) Pin footprint 0.6*1.55

So which one does the DDA footprint follow?

  • Hello, please follow the landing pattern stencil from the product's datasheet for each products. These are two different drawings, as demonstrated by the identifier in the top left hand corner.

  • Hi Beck,

May I know what difference between those package?

  • Hello Alan, I'll see if I can provide any further info.

  • Hello Alan, sounds like the packaging manufacturing limits is what caused a different EPOD.

    1. LMR38020 has thermal pad minimum length of 2.65mm, whereas TPS2421 has thermal pad minimum length of 2.5mm
    2. LMR38020 has thermal pad minimum width of 1.65mm and maximum width of 2.40mm, whereas TPS2421 has thermal pad minimum width of 2.0mm and maximum width of 2.6mm.
    3. From the examples stencil designs in the datasheet, LMR38020 has lead width of 0.45mm, whereas TPS2421 has lead width of 0.6mm.
    4. In the stencil design, LMR38020 has thermal pad width of 2.4mm, whereas TPS2421 has thermal pad width of 2.6mm.
    5. In the stencil design, the distance between the centers of the opposite leads of LMR38020 is 5.75mm, whereas the distance between the centers of the opposite leads of TPS2421 is 5.4mm.
    6. In the stencil design, the length of the leads for LMR38020 is 2.15mm, whereas the length of the leads for TPS2421 is 1.55mm.
