BQ24617: Use case - system with 3-cell unremovable battery

Hi, I'm investigating a power path using bq24617, same as of bq2417x with 1-cell unremovable battery (SLUSAD2 Rev.C  Figure.23).

System requirement: Vin =15 or 20V、Vbat = 12.6Vmax、Ichg = 1.5Amax

Is it possible to composite a charge circuit using bq24617 like below?

    Hello,

    I have not tried such design with BQ24617. This will mean system voltage is the same as battery voltage. The device should regulate the charge current going into the sense resistor independent of the system load. This should work, however I have not tried it before and would advise you to test according to your application. I would recommend a configuration like Figure 20 in BQ24617 datasheet.
