TPSI3050-Q1: Input current drawn from TPSI3050 when the auxiliary current drawn is 4.5mA.

Part Number: TPSI3050-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPSI3050

Hi,

I am a Lead Engineer at Collins Aerospace, Bangalore. I am trying to optimize an existing circuit in my project (7000+ production per year) using TPSI3050-Q1 IC. I have an input current limitation of 16mA to the IC. The current drawn at the output, I_Aux_max will not exceed 4.5mA as per my applications. I tried to analyze the compatibility using the TPSI305x calculator available in the site. Since the output current available as well as the input current drawn depends on the value of R_PXFR selected, I tried to get the optimum value of R_PXFR using the calculator sheet. The problem is :

  1. a) If R_PXFR= 9.09kohm, then I_AUX_MAX = 2mA & I_VDDP = 9.10mA : This value of I_AUX_MAX is too less for my application
  2. b) If R_PXFR= 11kohm, then I_AUX_MAX = 6.09 mA & I_VDDP = 17.26 mA : This value of I_AUX_MAX is optimum for my application but the value of I_VDDP is more than what my circuit can source.

Since I need only 4.5mA for my application, I wanted to know what will be the value of I_VDDP which will be drawn by TPSI3050. Could you confirm that input current I_VDDP of TPSI3050 will not exceed 16mA for I_AUX_MAX = 4.5mA
