LMR51430: TI's current mode with light load mode Question

Hi Team,

May I know the current mode with light load mode of converter whether it is support inverting output ?such as LMR514x0, LMQ664x0.

Hi Kuo,

LMR51430 has FPWM version(LMR51430XFDDCR /LMR51430YFDDCR). This version allows the inductor current to reverse its normal direction in light load.

LMQ664x0 also has FPWM version like (LMR66430MB3RXBR).

So, reverse its normal direction in light load effected the inverting output? and why E2E has some post to discussed the inverting output by LM5164(light load mode control)?

Hi Kuo,

Reverse its normal direction in light load doesn't effect the inverting output.

LM5164 is a COT control device and it also can support inverting output no matter in high load or light load.
