Hi Team,
Can you have a look at the following customer inquiry, please?
We have BQ24040 DSQT, BQ51050BRHLT and BQ27421YZFR-G1A components in use for our project for charging.
So far, this all works wonderfully.
We only noticed during the first tests that the battery is also charged when the cell is extremely deep discharged U<3V (1V etc.).
We would like to prevent the charging of deeply discharged cells for safety reasons (without software).
The battery pack currently disables drawing energy at battery voltage <3V, but you can still charge the battery at 0V cell voltage.
Currently, we can only read the battery voltage via the fuel gauge (after charging has already started) and then stop charging via the "enable pin". The protection electronics are currently such that when the cell voltage is <3V, it displays the battery voltage of 0V to the outside.
Are there any ideas from you how we can implement this analog (without SW)?
Thank you,
Franz
