Why DFETF flag not set?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ20Z45

Dear All,

 3438.Bq20z45EVM OLD test.log

I did following experiment about bq20z45 DFETF function.

1. Assembled a pack with bq20z45EVM;

2. Set the FET Fail time is 1 second, AFE OC Dsg is 12 (14A), AFE OC Dsg time 0F;

3. Discharge current from 5.1A regulator to 14.1A, then AOCD flag raised and DSG FET turn off;

4. And observed SBS screen have unreal current -532mA and current sustained about 2 seconds after DSG FET turn.

5. But DFETF flag not raised, could you please help to explain why DFETF flag not raised? (If short DSG FET D and S pin, then DFETF flag will raise).

Suren

Thanks & regards

  • This is simply an artifact of logging too quickly with the EVSW. If you review the data, you'll notice it takes about 3 to 4 seconds for any parameter to change. The gauge is actually acting faster, but due to the latency in the drivers, the comm bus, the EV2300 and the EVSW itself, it takes longer for the log data to be updated on the PC. You will get better results by logging at 2s rate as opposed to a 100ms rate.

  • Dear Chase,

    Thanks for you reply,

    The purpose set the logging time below 100ms is grasp the unreal current, may be can't grasp the unreal current if set the logging time to 2s or above. Could you please help explain that why the DFETF flag not raise when the unreal current exist time exceed the FET fail time? Why there have unreal current after DSG FET turn off?

    Thanks & regards,
