BQ34Z100: Is a BQ34Z100 device updated to BQ34Z100-G1 by updating firmware?

Hi professional.

We are trying to use BQ34Z100 device. (It is not BQ34Z100-G1 and BQ34Z100-R2)

I found below information at E2E forum.

If we update BQ34Z100 device with BQ34Z100-G1 firmware, the device will be BQ34Z100-G1?

If the device change to BQ34Z100-G1, shold we refer to its datasheet insted of BQ34Z100 ?

After the firmware is programmed, you must refer to the bq34z100-G1 TRM and datasheet

After updating firmware, I understand to not refer BQ34Z100 datasheet. Then I understand that I should refer the BQ34Z100-G1 datasheet.

And our question is resolved. Some display items on bqStudio has been different to BQ34Z100, because the device was updated to BQ34Z100-G1.

For example, Pack configuration bit7 of low byte. (BQ34Z100 is X10, but BQ34Z100-G1 is RFACTSTEP)

For those who found this QA.

If you update the FW, it may be BQ34Z100-R2 depending on the version as shown in the following thread.

BQ34Z100, BQ34Z100-G1, and BQ34Z100-R2 have different settings, so please check carefully what the update destination will be.

The learning cycle takes a long time, so doing it with the wrong settings is a waste of time.
