PWM controller with adjustable duty cycle

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CD4047B, UCC2803, UCC2805

Hi Team,

Our customer is looking for a PWM controller with adjustable duty cycle. He is considering the CD4047B but I understand that the duty cycle is fixed at 50% due to the internal flip flop that is directly connected to the output. His application is for power supply with typical input voltage of 5 to 12V, while the maximum can go up to 24V. Can you please suggest a PWM controller that would fit his requirements?

Regards,
Danilo
  • Hi,

UCC2803 and UCC2805 should be ok for your application. You can take a look at them Their data sheets can be found on ti.com by typing in UCC2803 or UCC2805 to search.

  • Hi Hong,

Our customer has follow up inquiry below.

I am looking for an IC that can be used as a Astable Multivibrator that generates 250 kilo hertz signal with variable duty ratio. Kindly help me find any IC that suites this requirement.

Astable multivibrator with two outputs complement to each other is preferred. Pulse frequency needed is 250 kilo-Hertz , with fixed duty ratio of 62% and 38% at the outputs respectively.

    Regards,

    Danilo

  • Hi,

We do not have such or similar devices. You need to build your own. It looks like you would need an MCU or a DSP to do this since your specs are very specific and we do not have a dedicated product can meet such specs. You may try TMS320 or something similar.
