TPS1H100-Q1: test output causing sparks

Dears

 Please help  check the shc for TPS1H100-Q1,Short circuit in the test output, causing sparks to burn out the chip.

Please help to see if there are any improvements or other model recommendations needed on the circuit. Thank you!

  • Hi Bright,

    Is the short test condition a terminal short? As in are you shorting directly at the output? This test is extremely strenuous on the device. Please note that short to GND testing is performed according to AECQ100 specifications which require a output load.

    Do note that your sense resistor is quite large. This will reduce the linear range of sense current because the maximum voltage that can be output is VSNSFH.
