Hi,

I want to design P3 RGB LED Display panel for 16x48 LED's Matrix using TLC5926. I have few questions as below,

1. What is refresh rate of TLC5926? Will it support for Video playing?

2. How to control Luminosity/Brightness?

3. R-Ext will control the current for all 16 LED's or require separate current limiting resistor for each LED? 

4. What is relation between Luminosity/Brightness with SMPS power?

5. If I connect 3 panels of 16x48 RGB LED Display in series, Requirement of Luminosity/brightness is >600cd/m2 what is the power required of SMPS?

6. For Daisy Chain of TLC5926, If I connect 9 TLC5926 in series how control all 9 IC's output because all IC's have common ~OE(ED2) and LE(ED1) and SDO connected to second IC's SDI?

    Hi Mohan，

    1. TLC5926 can only control the on/off of the current sinks，and the on/off state refresh rate is determined by the control signal

    2. The device can only set the current sink‘s value by external resistor，and if you want to adjust the brightness，you may need use the control data to transfer the outputs’on/off states to adjust the duty cycle.

    3. Yes，the R-ext will set all 16 current sinks‘ value.

    4，5. I need to check

    6. Yes，you need connect the SDO to the next SDI

     Actually，for your 16*48 application，LP5890 is recommended because it can drive 16*48 matrix with only 1 chip.
