BQ79600EVM: BQ79600EVM-030

Part Number: BQ79600EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB2ANY

Greetings for the day team,

Issues are as such without turning the power supply on or without giving the command to wake up the BQ79600EVM-030 Evaluation board.

The Green & Red light both turned on the  BQ79600EVM-030 Evaluation board simultaneously once the evaluation board connected to USB2ANY Setup on another side.

As a result commands such as Wake Up device, Auto Address & PowerDown commands are not working.

It is clear that it is not reading anything.

Kindly provide the support ASAP.

Thanks & Regards

Vimal Sagar

  • Good afternoon Vimal,

Thank you for reaching out to us!

Please verify that the jumpers are set correctly to the supply settings and the communications settings you will be using. You can refer to the Quick Start Guide section within the BQ79600 Evaluation Module User's Guide.

You also mention that this issue happens without turning on the power supply and without sending any wake commands. Without any power being supplied to the 5V or 12V pins, the EVM should be unable to power on. The USB2ANY pin cable connection can only provide a max 3.3V. Please check if there is anything else providing power to the BQ79600 EVM in your set up.

  • Good afternoon Fernando

As instructed, I checked the jumpers, they seem to be correctly placed. Apart from this, I am not providing any other supply to BQ79600 EVM Setup.

Is there any solution from your side that I should try and get out of this situation?

It's urgent so please help me out .

    Thanks & Regards

    Vimal

  • Good morning Vimal,

I'm sorry to hear you are still having issues with the BQ79600 EVM. I would like to ask a bit more about your the issue.
My concern is that the device powers on even if you aren't providing any voltage to the EVM. So i would like to know, before connecting the USB2ANY is there any voltage or current readings on either the 12V or 5V power pins (depending on the one you are using for your set up)?
Also, make sure that the supply you are using is providing the required voltage and current needed to properly power on the device. Not having the proper power supplied can cause problems with communication between devices.

    Best,
