For a customer we are using the TPS2492PWR on a 'smart fuse' application.
The application works fine for 99%.
We did a test on 24V with a short-circuit (0R1) on the output.
We noticed that the output FET heats up and fails on the short circuit, with the power supply dropping to 3V and supplying 7A.
In this particular case the FET fails.
The driver is a LED type power supply of Meanwell.
On 48V we do not see a failure of the FET itself, it switches off and stays OK.
We tested this with both the microcontroller erased and flashed with our application.
Can you advise on this matter? Or do you have any idea what we need to tune or measure?
