TPS55288: Looking for help with a design review

Part Number: TPS55288
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65987

Hi all,

I have put together a USB-C power solution with our client that involves the following TI devices:

TPS55288RPMR (Variable power BB power supply, point of this thread)

TPS65987DDHRSHR (Already reviewed, but need to confirm interconnect)

TPD6S300ARUKR (Protection)

TUSB546AI-DCIRNQT (Redriver/Mux)

What I am looking for is an independent review as our client is swamped to spend much time to help with this task.

Overview is the TPS65987 is playing a slave to a Kria module, and the TPS65987 is controlling this power device TPS55288 directly. The controller is also dealing with the Mux part.

What I don't know for certain is if the TPS55288 is supported by the controller, as when I go through the wizard interface without having a target to test, I cannot find reference to this power device being supported natively.

The USB-C solution is going to be able to both source and sink power, meaning it can be charged through USB-C and alternately power an external display through display port, among normal USB-C data duties.

I don't know how private the E2E forums are so I cannot disclose the schematic or who the client is unless in PMs.

Thanks,

-Mark Wyman, Vanteon.
