TPS7A14: Facing issue with TPS7A14EVM-058 EVM

Hi Dharani,

I tested my EVM I have here and I did not see any such issue. Is it possible that you plugged any of the banana connectors backwards or something like that? I don't think you should be seeing this unless there was a faulty connection.

Hi Nick,

We have double checked all the connection.

Enable jumper settings are also proper and we didn't use any banana connectors.

But still, output voltage is dipping and vbias pin is taking 100mA from 3.7V supply.

I think, this is due to some defect in EVM. what is the procedure for RMA?

I'm working along with Dharani. Yes, we resolved the issue. We ordered another EVM & the results are as expected with the applied load.

I have another question.

In the EVM, we have isolated the Jumper J5 and added feedback resistors on the SENSE pin to get 1.3V output instead of default 0.8V.

In the actual design we are using TPS7A1413PYBKR which will provide fixed 1.3V output. I hope this part also support to adjust the output voltage by adding feedback resistor on the SENSE pin. Could you confirm this design flexibility because its not clear in the datasheet.

HI Nanthan,

This device can technically support using external feedback resistors to adjust the output voltage but it was not specified in this kind of use-case, so the EC specs (in particular noise and output accuracy) may not hold. If this isn't a concern then it should be fine.
