We are using "UC2855" power factor preregulator in our designs. We see two different applications for current sensing. In first application, both boost mosfet and boost diode currents are controlled and sensed with current sensors. In second application, only the boost mosfet current is sensed by using current transformer. I have attached the related parts of circuit blocks. I expect you assess both application and send us your ideas(advantages,disadvantages,comments,experiences) about both applications. Which one do you prefer or maybe you can suggest another usage.
