Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5066
when a few LM5066i connect to the same I2C, each LM5066i has a VDD output, I2C pull up resistors connect to VDD.
how to deal with those VDDs?
can all these VDDs connect together ( parallel)?
Thanks

Hi Tom,
Welcome to E2E
We don't recommend connecting VDDs together as mismatch in VDD voltages loads the LM5066 devices.
How many devices are you using ? Is Vin same for each LM5066?
I suggest to have an auxiliary supply derived from input and use as pullup source rather than using VDD from LM5066
Best regards
Rakesh
Hi Rakesh,
Thank you for your recommendation.
per you comment, I will move I2C pullup ressitors to the host side power supply.
the project is to plan use LM5066i as a power switch to distributes power from the same power supply to some instruments, all LM5066i have the same Vin.
the telemetry data will give info about the status of each instruments.
there will be up to 16 LM5066i in the project.
the other question is about LM5066i-EV schematic.
if I move I2C pullup resittors to host side ( host microntroller power supply), does 3.3V pullup power okay?
does the isolation resistor ( LM5066i-EV schematic 100ohm ???_iso resistor) can be removed?
Best regards!
Tom
Hi Tom,
Most likely you forgot to attach the LM5066i-EV schematic. I am not finding the schematic in this thread.
Hello Avishek,
Thank you for your help.
the schematic I reference to is
https://www.ti.com/tool/LM5066IEVM-626 on page 24
if I move the pull resistors or I2C host side power supply, does the resistors of R19, R20 can be removed?
I attached my design schematic here
my requirements are:
when plug in, the breaker should be off, and I put a type B relay to disable LM5066i, a I2C I/O to control individual LM5066i UVLO/EN.
all LM5066i has the same input voltage, up to 16 LM5066i in the unit.
