Boosting 24V to 90V 20A

Hello, i need help with part selection for making a boost converter that can take 24V DC and boost it to 90V. I need to supply 20A to the output. I have looked at the LM5122 and the LM5170, but the LM5170 only boosts to 85V. I was wondering if there was a controller that is like the LM5122 but has an easier capability to do more than 2-phase.

Hi Jonathan,

I suppose the load is 20A and the title has a typo of 2A.

My suggestion is also LM5170 or LM5122 too.

You may consider LM5170 with external gate drivers.

Yes the load is 20A, must of been a typo. I have seen people recommend the LM5170, but it says it's High side output has a max of 85V. Unless im reading that wrong

Hi Jonathan,

You are right. LM5170 VIN, SW pins are rated for 95V, which limits the maximum voltage. If you use external gate drivers, SW pin see no voltage stress.

For LM5122, SW pins are rated for 105V. But you may need 3 phase or more for this power level.
