    Hello Jayden,

    The BQ40Z80 uses SMBus protocol, it abides by SMBus spec v1.1, but it also has an XL 400kHz option which can be used, although it does not abide by the SMBus V1.1 when it is used since the 400kHz was not specified until later SMBus versions.
