BQ76942EVM: I can't communicate with my EVM

Part Number: BQ76942EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO, , BQ76942, EV2400

Hello,I have a BQ76942EVM, I downloaded bqstudio on the ti official website and connected to my computer according to the manual, but it actually could not communicate, the automatic device detection showed none, three LED lights were always on, I tried the stable version and the beta version of bqstudio many versions still do not work, I also tried to re-update the EVM program still cannot connect.
I would appreciate it if someone told me how to fix it.

  • Hi Xuecong,

We are more than happy to help!

In the upper left corner of the BQStudio main screen it will display what is being detected.

The first is the EV2400 (on-board MCU that interfaces between the PC and the BQ76942) and the driver version. Is it the latest driver version? Check driver version here: https://www.ti.com/tool/EV2400

Secondly, you have the IC where you will find the device name, version and device address. What do you see?

Additionally, you can check that REG18 voltage (~1.8V) to see if the device is powered. You can also check that the appropriate communication jumpers on the EVM are connected for your chosen protocol. Please refer to the BQ76942 EVM user guide section 2.2 Quick Start and ensure no steps were missed.

A picture of the setup or screen capture of what you are seeing on BQStudio would be a big help for me as well.

    Best,
