BQ76942: RAM and Data Memory

Part Number: BQ76942

I have one question for the RAM.

1. When I connected BQ studio and BQ76942, And write some register value, all these (Calibration, setting....) are just writen to the RAM?

2. But I guess there is still flash in the BQ76942, Is it right? Like the initial program, some algrithum... are burnt in the flash.

Is there any flash register open to customers to change? For example, calibration value.

  • Hi Fabio,

    1. When using BQ Studio, all the register values written are written to RAM and are volatile.

    2. The chip uses One-Time Programmable (OTP) memory that does allow you to change the initial configuration of the registers. However, the OTP can only be written once. If need be, the OTP can also be restored to it's initial state, but from there it will no longer be modifiable. You can find more info on the BQ769x2 Calibration and OTP Programming Guide in Section 3: OTP Programming.
