UCC27712: About hipot capability for half bridge gate driver

Hello TIer,

May I know the UCC21520 and UCC27712 can match the hipot test? or have any hipot test result?

If so, may I know if the hipot result is affected by the internal level shift and capacitor isolation?

    Hello Kuo,

    For isolated drivers. we do a different set of tests from hipot, but some are functionally very similar. For UCC21520, we have detailed insulation specs:

    to achieve VDE V 0884-11 rating, there are a variety of tests performed on the insulation barrier. This should give similar information to the hipot, but with different methods.

    For the UCC27712, we do not have as detailed insulation specs. The max voltage is applied as a DC voltage until the level-shifter/internal bootstrap diode cannot handle it. So for UCC27712, it can handle 700V absmax, and any higher voltage can damage the device.
