TUSB1046EVM: Migrating to TUSB1046A-DCI

Hi Team,

A customer is using TUSB1046EVM to develop a project for TUSB1046A-DCI. However, the chip installed in the EVM is the TUSB1046-DCI. I checked the difference of these devices and it seems that the only difference is the integrated DCI for the TUSB1046A-DCI. I would like to know if there are any development code/configurations should be applied when migraitng the procject from the EVM to the TUSB1046A-DCI?.

Same PD controller firmware can be used for both TUSB1046-DCI and TUSB1046A-DCI.

It should be okay to replace the TUSB1046-DCI with TUSB1046A-DCI correct? also can you recommend which I2C programmer can be used for the EVM?

Hi,

Yes, you can replace TUSB1046-DCI with TUS1046A-DCI as they are functionally equivalent.

For I2C programmer, you can use Total Phase Aardvark I2C controller, https://www.totalphase.com/products/aardvark-i2cspi/, or TI USB2ANY I2C controller.
