Hi All,
I am using uA78M05-Q1 regulator in my design for one of the aerospace application. My design specification calls for operation of
the device from -55C to 110C. As per the datasheet, operating virtual junction temperature (Tj) is -40C to 125C. Can we use the IC
for my operating temperature conditions?
Also Please let me know the impact of operating the device at -55C.
-Thanks,
Shihab
Shihab,
I do not recommend this device for use at -55C, most likely issue would be start up failure. I can suggest an alternative device.
I need to know the minimum and maximum input voltage and minimum and maximum load current.

Hi Ron,
Input Voltage nominal: 12V, Input Voltage Maximum: 15V
Output Voltage : 5V
Output current : 50 mA or more
Package : SMD
-Thanks,
Shihab.
Shihab,
I attached all the extended temperature products for linear regulators with input voltage greater than 10V.
There is only one part that allows the full VIN; it is the TPS71501-EP (adjustable output voltage). However the maximum rated output current is 50mA.
The other parts support more current but have a VIN limit of 10V. To use these would require droping the input voltage first.
