Request for Boost converter recommendations

Hi, TI support team

Please recommend a Boost converter suitable for the conditions below.

[Electrical specifications]

1. Input voltage: 3V~4.35V

2. Output voltage: 4.5V

3. Load: 1 ohm resistance, 4Khz frequency is used under duty control. Max 3A

A problem occurred in the peak current (5~6A) of the existing product, so we are looking for a replacement product.

Please recommend a product with a Vsw of 10V or more and a true disconnection when disabled.

    Because the current is very large, so I think maybe TPS61288 is a good option.

    Can you have a detailed description of the output condition?

    It confuses us that you mentioned 1ohm, 3A max and peak current (5~6A).

    Means the conditions below.

    continuous output current = 3A

    Instantaneous output current = 5~6A

    The recommended TPS61288 satisfies the above conditions.

    However, customers are looking for a product where Vin and Vout become true disconnection when disabled.

    Please recommend a suitable product.

    Hi MJ,

    Could you tell how long the instantaneous current last?

    if the time is within 10us, it can be maintained by output capacitors.

    In this case, TPS61022 is recommended.

    if the current continued for 1ms or more, larger current limit device will be needed.

    We only have TPS61178 for this and its current is up to 10A and the disconnect FET is outside.
