Good evening,

I am an FPGA delevoper. I'm using the Xilinx evaluation board ZC702 that features UCD9248 digital power controllers.

I need to reprogram one of the output voltages from 2.5 V (default) to 3.3 V.

I am using the "fusion design" flow and following the istructions found on the online guides, but it is not working.

I connected the USB2ANY TI component to my PC and to the XIlinx evaluation board port j59 as suggested, removed the j12 jumper on the evaluation board and then turned on the board.
But I always get "no USB Adapet Found!" alert on Fusion Digital Power Designer GUI.

Where can the problem be?

Hi Lorenzo,

The Fusion Digital Power Designer GUI does not detect USB2ANY tool, it only recognizes USB-TO-GPIO or USB-TO-GPIO2.

So USB2ANY won't work with Fusion Digital Power Designer.

Is there a way to program the UCD9248 on ZC702 without buying the USB TO GPIO/USB TO GPIO 2?

It should be possible to program it through the SoC PS I2C interface, but I didn't find any guide following this flow.

Also, the USB TO GPIO/USB TO GPIO 2 are not available on TI.com. USB TO GPIO 2 is currently out of stock.

You can program the UCD9248 via an I2C interface using the PMBus command protocol. Below is a document that will walk you through the process.

Ok thank you.

I have to change the rail 1 voltage from 2.5 Volts to 3.3 Volts, on a device with PMBUS Addr = 53.

So what I have to do is to send i2c commands to address 53.

First a write "page" command, with page value = 0, since I'm interested in rail 1.

So i2c command with address = 53, write mode, "page" byte = 00h, "page value" byte = 00h.

Then I write vout_command = 3.3 (according to mantissa value)

So i2c command with address = 53, write mode, "vout_command" byte = 21h, "v_out value" 2*byte = xxxxh.

Is this enough? Will this command be saved in the flash, so I don't have to inizialize the power supply manager every time?

Hi Lorenzo,

After you are done changing the values, you must send the STORE_DEFAULT_ALL command. This will save your changes to the flash.
