TPS55288: TPS55288 - Switching frequency

Hello,

We are using  TPS55288 in one of our application, where it need to generate 5.2V from 5V. We set switching frequency to 400KHz by connecting the FSW with the resistor value of 49.9k.

We are observe that this converter is initially operating at 200kHz and when we increase the current to high value (5A) then it is started to switching at 400kHZ.

Not sure what is happening over here, this observation is consistent. 

Our schematics is same as the  Figure 8-1. USB PD Power Supply With 9-V to 20-V Input Voltage given in the Datasheet. Can you please help us to resolve this?

    Hi Manikandan,

    Thanks for reaching out.

    I think it operates at 5Vin/5.2Vout, so the switching frequency decreased to half to reduce the switching loss. It is the normal operation.
