MOSFET Why is the max current limit lower for DC case in SOA Curve

May I know why is the max drain current limit different for DC and rest of the pulsed cases

    Thanks for your interest in TI FETs. In TI MOSFET datasheets, the maximum DC current is equal to the package limited maximum continuous current specified in the absolute maximum ratings table on page 1 of the datasheet. Likewise, for the pulsed curves, the top horizontal line is equal to the maximum pulsed current (IDM) specified in the abs max ratings table.
