UCC28950: UCC28950: Stability issue

Part Number: UCC28950
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC29002

Hello,

I have 3 modules load sharing and each is doing 1100W, for a total of 3300W at 24V.

My output is regulating and I can run the output to max load. The problem that I am encountering is that the shim current in Module 2 (which is sandwiched between Module 1 and 3) appears to not be as stable as the other two.

Figure 1 shows the H-bridge and current on the shim inductor at max load for Module 3. Figure 2 shows the same scenario at max load for Module 2. I find a lot of jitter on the top side and bottom side of the current waveform (pink) between cycles like shown below in Figure 2. I do not observe this phenomenon in the other two modules as seen on Figure 1.

Figure 1: Pink shim inductor current Module 3, and Yellow H-bridge of Module 3.

Figure 2: Pink shim inductor current Module 2, and Yellow H-bridge of Module 2.

I have tried running each module individually and they all run smoothly without any jitter. I only notice it once I have all 3 running.

Could it be noise? Load sharing problem? I notice that the H-bridge doesn't look very stable in Figure 2, but it runs smoothly when used alone.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

Thank you,

Alberto Miguez
