Buck regulator design for radio units

Hi,

Which of the below buck regulator design is better for processor/FPGA core voltage in radio unit where natural convection is cooling mechanism (no fan):

1. Two phase buck controller with power stage FETs.

2. Two stacked integrated FET Buck converter.

How the people are doing currently in the industry.

Input voltage = 12V Nominal, Ouput = 0.85V, load current = 35A, switching frequency = 600KHz

Then you can select a design based on estimated efficiency, BOM cost, and footprint costs.

Mohamed,

35A will be significantly large for a single phase.

Dual phase is recommended to reduce I^2 * R losses.
